Product Description:
Actor Liam Neeson narrates this PBS documentary about Martin Luther, the 16th-century theologian who nailed 95 Theses to the doors of the Wittenberg cathedral and sparked a religious reformation that would alter European history. Frustrated with the corruption plaguing the Catholic Church, the German monk sought to return Christianity to its Biblical roots and, by doing so, was labeled a heretic and outlaw for daring to challenge the establish social order of his day. Luther's far-reaching ideas are examined in this fascinating documentary that utilizes dramatic reenactments, archival material, and scholarly interviews to tell the story of one of the world's most important and influential thinkers.
