Product Description:
David Bowie first appeared on the British rock scene with a self-titled 1967 debut that featured singer-songwriter folk music typical of its era. The musical chameleon began displaying glimpses of the unique, hard-rocking glam that would eventually come to define his career on the followup albums SPACE ODDITY (1969), THE MAN WHO SOLD THE WORLD (1970), and HUNKY DORY (1971). But the full flowering of Bowie's glam phase would come with 1972's seminal THE RISE AND FALL OF ZIGGY STARDUST AND THE SPIDERS FROM MARS, followed by the equally classic works ALADDIN SANE (1973), PIN UPS (1973), and DIAMOND DOGS (1974). INSIDE BOWIE AND THE SPIDERS: 1972-1974 traces the progression of Bowie's influential sound during these critical years through interviews with former band members Trevor Bolder and Woody Woodmansey, behind-the-scenes archival footage, and rare live performances of the albums' classic tracks.
