Product Description:
This documentary, part of the INVESTIGATIVE REPORTS cable television series on the A&E network, explores the world of the growing number of females in prison. This episode, narrated by INVESTIGATIVE REPORTS host and producer Bill Kurtis, takes a look at the new problems presented by more women being locked up, including what happens to their children. Many times, the children end up in badly managed welfare systems, which is not healthy for either the child or the mother. On this video, there are interviews with female inmates, law enforcement officials who work with these women prisoners, and psychologists to talk about the increasing population of women incarcerated in the country. There are also interviews with prison reform activists who continually fight for changes in the prison systems.
