Produced in Italy in 1999, adapted from a series of novels by Andrea Camilleri, and originally titled IL COMMISSARIO MONTALBANO for Italian television, the mystery series DETECTIVE MONTALBANO stars Luca Zingaretti as the title character. Salvo is a police detective, based in Vigata, Italy, who spends his days working on cases that bring him into regular contact with priests, Mafiosos, housewives, businessmen, and other assorted types in the community; outside of the job, he must also contend with personal demons that threaten to hamper his relationship to long-distance girlfriend Livia. This box set contains Episodes 10-12 of MONTALBANO. THE GOLDFINCH AND THE CAT finds the detective tying together such seemingly disconnected events as the muggings of little old ladies and a missing gynecologist; TURNING POINT has Montalbano investigating the presence of a floating corpse; and EQUAL TIME finds Montalbano looking into a series of alleged Mafia deaths.
