The United States Coast Guard produced this documentary in 1944 to show on-the-spot coverage of the Allied landings in Normandy that helped end the Second World War. More than 9,000 Allied soldiers lost their lives in what United States General Dwight Eisenhower called a great crusade. Footage shot by members of the USCG gives a first-hand look at the action.
