This series includes unique footage plundered by Russian Troops in 1945. This volume deals with early 1944. It covers events on all the German fronts including: Western Front - Rommel inspects the troops and fortifications along the Channel coast; Home Front - preparations in Berlin against bomber raids. In lieu of presenting a factual and unbiased portrait of Nazi Germany during World War II, the A NEWSREEL HISTORY OF THE THIRD REICH series actually consists of distorted propaganda footage, shot and edited by the Nazis in such a way that it was intended to give German citizens a more glowing picture of the Reich's progress and development in the Second World War. The footage was collected by the Russians in 1945 and now appears, edited together, in this unique series. The 17th volume covers events from early 1944, including Rommel's inspections of fortifications and troops on the coast of the English channel, the sequence of events on the Western front, and the preparations of the Berlin-based military against bombing raids.
