Description by OLDIES.com:
Paul Henreid produced and starred in this inspired film-noir thriller. The nail-biting tension is magnified by phenomenal performances by Joan Bennett (Scarlet Street) and John Qualen (Paul Henreid's co-star in Casablanca). The Scar also introduces Dragnet's Jack Webb in his first motion picture role.

Excellent cinematography by John Alton. Fascinating. Excellent performances by Paul Henreid and Joan Bennett. Plot about as subtle as a house on fire, but plenty enough to chew on. Taking on the identity of a psychiatrist, even though he is horrified on discovering he has scarred the wrong side of his face, he's in the clear as everyone in his life is so self-absorbed, they don't notice.
Incredible, far-fetched story of a man that assumes another mans place is definitly done on an A budget, definitly film noir and definitly intiguing! Nice performances by Henreid and lovely Bennett. Worth a viewing! Nice print.
