I'm Doin' Fine Now/Quick Fast in a Hurry/Happiness Is/Darling Take Me Back Music Lover: from Chicago, Illinois -- April, 27, 2004

The four tracks listed above "I'm Doin' Fine Now", "Quick, Fast In A Hurry", "Happiness Is", and "Darling Take Me Back" were all favorites of mine as a teenager in the 70's. I remember buying the original 45 singles and literally playing them over and over and over because the music was sooooooo good. "I'm Doin' Fine Now" was a shonuff groove mainly because it had that Philly Sound from Thom Bell who produced the majority of The Spinners' music (and I am a die-hard Spinners fan! lol) and also that song helped to heal a brokenhearted 14 year old (myself) when i broke up with my boyfriend. "Quick, Fast In A Hurry" was a jam too, especially the intro of the song, and I loved it. In 1974, when "Happiness Is" was released, it also blew me away, because Thom Bell put his foot in orchestrating and arranging that song...again, it was reminiscent of the Spinners. "Darling, Take Me Back" was a ballad that brought tears to my eyes the same way that "How Could I Let You Get Away" by the Spinners did, and i am soooo happy to finally be able to get this rare but talented group's CD with all the hit songs on them. Big ups to Thom Bell back in the day for crankin' out the hits for New York City, The Spinners, Delfonics, Stylistics and Intruders. Oh, the memories!!!!
