Rating: 2/10 -- The Hole in the Ground is here and then it's gone. The overwhelming feeling is of shrugged shoulders. Full Review

[The film] taps potently into parental anxieties and primal fears. Thoughtful technical credits, especially the varied, layered score by Stephen McKeon, add an extra layer of polish.

Rating: 8.5/10 -- The Hole In the Ground is an unsettling bout of paranoia that makes for a memorable directorial debut. Full Review

THE HOLE IN THE GROUND has memorable images -- the bottomless pit, a child’s hand warped and extended in creepy imitation of the spiders that once terrified him.
New York Times
Feb 28, 2019
Rating: B- -- The Hole in the Ground never seeks to differentiate itself from the established horror movie aesthetic: we get creepy jangling lullaby music, a decrepitly old hooded women mumbling to herself ominously, bare feet on creaking wooden floors, broken mirrors. Full Review
