Description by OLDIES.com:
Terry O'Toole comes to America from the Emerald Isle to seek his fame and fortune. He is hired by the Loteda Traction Company as a trolley conductor. While performing his appointed rounds, loyal and true Terry manages to save the life of the owner's young son, romance his beautiful daughter and rescue the company from a hostile takeover attempt.
Johnny Hines starred in and wrote the screen play for Conductor 1492, which was directed by his brother, Charles. Beautifully produced by Warner Brothers, this film is a heartfelt and sincere profile of Irish-American immigrant life and boasts excellent sets, location photography, a top notch car chase and climaxes with a spectacular fire sequence. Between 1914 and 1941, Johnny Hines appeared in 87 features. Dan Mason, who plays Terry's dad, was another silent era workhorse, appearing in 108 films.
