Description by OLDIES.com:
The story of the war racket! An unbelievably shocking documentary rarely seen since the 1930s, Dealers in Death connects the catastrophic death toll during World War I with the rampant proliferation of munitions manufacturers. Compiled to bring attention to hearings being held by the U.S. Senate's Munitions Investigating Committee in 1934, it utilizes shocking footage and hard evidence to expose the underhanded practices of the world's most famous makers of armaments. Firms such as Vickers-Armstrongs, Krupp, Schneider-Creusot, Skoda, du Pont, Remington, and Colt are all implicated as instigators of the Great War. Dealers in Death was re-edited and re-released in 1939 to further warn audiences about the emerging threat of Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany. "The next war will be more than a Hell," narrator Basil Ruysdael says, "it will be a Holocaust of all humanity." With a grim conclusion predicting a frighteningly accurate future of merciless and unrelenting warfare, Dealers in Death is just as relevant today as it was during the Great Depression.
