Before Mickey Mouse, Felix the Cat was the first world-famous cartoon star. Created by Pat Sullivan and Otto Messmer in 1919, the Felix shorts delighted moviegoers with their surreal and oft-times topical humor. Now internationally-known film historian John K. Carpenter ("The Movie Man") digs even further into his Long Island film vault to present nine more classic Felix cartoons - including his favorite: "What attracted me as an eight-year-old to start loving early animation was "Mom and Dad" buying me Atlas Films' 50 ft. Super 8 versions of the old Felix cartoons (which were all labeled as "Kitty Kat'' on the box!) I was mesmerized by the art and atmosphere in Sure-Locked Homes.
