The Beast Must Die is worth a look, as long as you enjoy unintentionally campy kitsch from the swinging 70s and werewolf myths. Full Review

Rating: 2/4 -- This B-movie werewolf tale from British horror studio Amicus was a blatant attempt to compete with their equally low-budget competitor AIP studios. Full Review

Description by OLDIES.com:

The Beast Must Die - Digitally Remastered. Wealthy big game hunter Tom Newcliffe (Calvin Lockhart) has tracked and killed practically every type of animal in the world. But one creature still evades him, the biggest game of all - a werewolf. Tom invites five guests -- Dr. Christopher Lundgren (Peter Cushing), Paul Foote, Bennington, Jan Jarmokowski and Davina-- to his island knowing they all are tied one way or another to unusual circumstances of death... and that one of them is a werewolf! Add to the mix Tom's alluring wife Caroline and surveillance expert, Pavel; Tom tracks the werewolf but is unable to kill it. One by one the creature kills the isolated guests. As the viewer, you are alerted at the outset that a mystery awaits and that clues will be unveiled that can point to the identity of the werewolf. Near the conclusion, audiences are invited to a 30-second interlude during which each viewer must decide, once and for all, who the hunted beast is. Enjoy this classic tale of terror, along with the funky soundtrack by Douglas Gamley that surely gives suspense soul! Based on the short story "There Shall Be No Darkness" by James Blish.
