Product Description:
First ever comprehensive collection of the legendary Willie Egan - a Louisiana rocker in the style of Fats Domino and Smiley Lewis who never achieved the fame he deserved but was an enormous talent nonetheless. The selections presented here were recorded in Los Angeles in late 1955 and early '56 and musicians featured include Red Callender on bass; Pete Lewis and Lloyd Rowe on guitar; K.C. Bell and Kenny Primus on drums; Don Johnson on trumpet; Jackie Kelso, alto sax; Eldee Williams, tenor sax; James Curry, guitar and bass; and Lorenzo Holden, tenor sax. Included are rare out-takes from the historic sessions. All selections newly remastered.
