Aficionados of early electric guitar music hold Billy Mure in as high esteem as Les Paul as an early innovator. One of the top session guitar players of the 1950's, Mure's signature guitar sounds can be heard on many of the top Rhythm and Blues Pop, Jazz and Rock N' Roll records of the 1950's by artists as diverse as Bobby Darin ("Splish Splash"), Bobby Freeman ("Do You Wanna Dance"), LaVern Baker, Ivory Joe Hunter, Joe Turner, Ben E. King, Della Reese and many others, often handling the arranging duties as well. On this rare classic solo album recorded in 1960, Mure, accompanied by his guitar and orchestra, assembles an impressive crowd of trumpeters including Doc Severinsen, Ernie Royal, Bernie Glow and many others playing a selection of big band and specialty numbers. All selections have been newly remastered.
