Billy Mure Strictly Cha Cha

Aficionados of early electric guitar music hold Billy Mure in as high esteem as Les Paul as an early innovator. One of the top session guitar players of the 1950's, Mure's signature guitar sounds can be heard on many of the top Rhythm and Blues and Rock N' Roll records of the 1950's by artists as diverse as Bobby Darin ("Splish Splash"), Bobby Freeman ("Do You Wanna Dance"), LaVern Baker, Ivory Joe Hunter, Joe Turner, Ben E. King, Della Reese and many others, often handling the arranger duties as well. On this rare classic solo album recorded in 1960, Mure takes on the cha-cha, the dance craze that was sweeping the nation at the time of this recording. All selections have been newly remastered.
