Product Description:

Andy Sannella was a multi-instrumentalist Jazz musician whose recording career began in the early 1920' s. He made his first recordings with the Ray Miller Orchestra between 1923 and '25 playing mostly clarinet, alto and baritone sax. These recordings also featured other early Jazz notables; Frankie Trumbauer and Miff Mole who went on to play with Bix Beiderbecke. Sannella also recorded as a steel guitar soloist; "Slidin' on the Frets" recorded in 1929, became a minor hit in the US and Europe. Over the years, Andy played with many orchestras, appeared on radio and television - but did not record as a leader again until the mid-fifties. The wonderful audiophile recording presented here was recorded in 1958, a concept album that revolves around Jazz standards whose themes are girl's names. Sannella arranged all the tunes and leads the session admirably. All selections newly re-mastered. [Note: This product is an authorized CD-R and is manufactured on demand]
