The ever popular Caf del Mar label has collaborated with the hip Madrid-based imprint Lovemonk, for an album that's turned out somewhat funkier and with more bounce in places, than the usual Cafe Del Mar fare... Led by one of Spain's most respected DJ /producers, Se orlobo, Lovemonk is a fresh outfit that gathers an eclectic mix of artists and DJs currently playing the Spanish circuit, with a roster that takes in artists from the beats, house and Latin camps as well as dance-friendly indie rockers. This album captures the unique 'Espa ol groove', combining, Latin funk, house, reggae, folk & electronica, for a solid mix that includes work from Spanish acts: Gecko Turner, Pajaro Sunrise, Soul Vigilantes, Se orlobo, with contributions too from Bing Ji Ling, Quantic and Alice Russell. Many of these artists recently played for the Caf Del Mar party series held at Dubai's famed Nasimi Beach of Atlantis.
